Spiceworks is on the hunt for a talented Senior Interactive Art Director to help lead the charge in creating compelling interactive content for our clients. You’ll be working on a suite of products including microsites, product selectors, interactive infographics and ebooks, landing pages, and more. Through conceptualization, design, and project management (and working alongside development teams), you’ll help bring campaigns to life for tech vendors, making sure the interactive products we create are compelling, insightful, and effective.

Your day-to-day (as a Senior Interactive Art Director, you’ll):

  • Conduct efficient client and product research
  • Work on the structure, logic, and visual design of interactive products
  • Think conceptually and strategically to discover the best way to solve problems
  • Work closely with and lead efforts of designers and associate designers
  • Mentor team on best interactive practices and ensure they stay updated through training
  • Collaborate with remote and in-house development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented
  • Interpret briefs to create designs that are functional, compelling, and message driven — not just “pretty” (that’s a by-product)
  • Work with non-designers and clients to help them realize their vision and keep projects on track
  • Manage multiple projects with many dependencies simultaneously at break-neck speeds


Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?

  • At least 8+ years of professional design experience creating campaigns, digital products, and websites (with at least 5+ years of agency experience)
  • Exceptional interactive and visual design skills — and an online portfolio that showcases them
  • Strong project and people management skills: You’re collaborative, self-motivated, and professional
  • Killer communication skills across a wide spectrum of personalities
  • Ability to switch from project leader to contributor, rolling up your sleeves and producing work at the drop of a hat
  • Critical thinking and pro­­blem-solving skills
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically across an entire integrated campaign
  • Strong attention to detail in design and project management
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to stay calm and produce stellar work in an ultra fast-paced environment
  • Expert-level skills in both design and prototyping tools
  • Ability to train and mentor designers
  • Strong HTML and CSS skills
  • Command of copywriting basics
  • Experience art directing designers
