Imperfect is a produce delivery startup on a mission to reduce food waste and to make fresh produce more affordable, accessible, and convenient. We source produce directly from farms, which would otherwise go to waste, and deliver it to customers' doors for an average of 30% less than grocery store prices. Since our start in 2015, our customers have saved millions of pounds of produce from going to waste.

About the Role:
 
At Imperfect, we’re on a mission to reduce food waste by changing the way people eat and think about food. By embracing imperfections and celebrating the small, everyday victories that add up to huge wins, we’re creating a community of eaters who are making an impact on their plates and in the world.
 
Our online community is growing every day, and we’re looking for an experienced Community Manager to join our team!  The ideal candidate is someone who is not only passionate about food, sustainability and Imperfect’s impact on the world, but also understands the power of social media and delivering unique brand experiences across platforms. From strategy to execution, you’ll own how Imperfect communicates with our customers on a one-to-one level. Ideal candidates will be eager to jump into online conversations with current and new communities, provide insight into community sentiment and segmentation, and identify opportunities for future content development through ongoing feedback with the brand team. As the eyes and ears on the ground, you’ll be in charge of creating and implementing strategies for nurturing relationships with customers and turning fans into brand advocates.

Responsibilities:

    • Own the conversation across all Imperfect’s social media channels, including responding to all mentions and treating interactions as an opportunity to engage further (surprise and delight, asking questions)
    • Manage influencer relationships, such as identifying potential partnerships, compiling the best UGC and executing ongoing engagement
    • Creatively problem-solve to respond to customers’ most common issues, while flagging trends, escalating serious issues, and proactively creating a better customer experience
    • Manage how the Customer Care team communicates on social media, ensuring a unified brand tone and voice is executed across every touchpoint
    • Create and implement a strategy for how to build, nurture, and engage niche communities
    • Listen to online conversations and identify opportunities for thought leadership and content development
    • Interpret, document and share back what the community is talking about. This includes both positive and negative sentiment, as well as topic analysis and any noticeable trends that may directly or indirectly relate to our brand
    • Stay up-to-date on the Social Media landscape, including trends, competitive analysis, and best-in-class brands
    • Own review strategy and outreach (Facebook, Google)
    • Support local initiatives, social contests, activations, and in-person events to further our PR efforts

Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-4 years of Social Media Marketing / Community Management experience
    • Exceptional social media skills and the ability to build communities
    • Strong understanding of the social media landscape, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
    • Familiarity with data analysis and social reporting / listening tools, such as Sprout Social

Details of Position:

    • Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of  Brand
    • Based out of our sweet warehouse-turned-office in San Francisco (Bayview)
    • Salary and employee stock options commensurate with experience

Physical Requirements:

    • Sedentary work; predominantly involves sitting most of the time
    • Standing desks and/or other ergonomic accommodation is available upon request
    • Walking, climbing stairs, and standing are required only occasionally
    • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses and screens
    • Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets also required
