Job Description:

We're looking for a Finance & Strategy Analyst who can improve strategic and financial decision making across the company.

This analyst role will play an integral part in Nextdoor’s success by providing strategic decision support, forecasting, and financial planning & reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

As a key business partner, you will play a critical role tackling the following responsibilities below:

Strategic Decision Support

We are the analytic advisor to our business partners. Responsibilities will include analytics initiatives such as financial modeling, customer LTV analysis, product/competitive landscape benchmarking, identifying and analyzing relevant business metrics, and other data-driven analysis in support of key business / product decisions.

Forecasting

We use data to predict short-term and long-term trends for making strategic decisions. We have intimate knowledge of the data available and actively mine it from our databases. We build models in Excel to understand complex relationships between variables and analyze variances to drive deeper insights.

Financial Planning & Reporting

We have an intimate understanding of Nextdoor’s business. We gain this by regularly partnering with business functions (e.g. Finance/Accounting, Business Intelligence, Marketing, Products, International, and others) to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company. We support our business partners to manage their budgets and ensure they have assessed the impact of current and future marketing, product development and other investment initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another relevant field
  • 2 to 6 years of relevant industry experience with financial modeling (e.g. investment banking, business valuation, corporate finance, consulting)
  • Understanding of the social media, digital advertising or consumer internet industries
  • Proficiency in Excel. Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A highly analytical and inquisitive work style with a keen attention to detail -- but also ability to see the big picture
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
