Contracts Manager at Atrium
San Francisco, CA, US
Atrium is the most client-centric law firm providing legal services and applications to fast-growing companies. Atrium has helped hundreds of companies with everything from drafting and reviewing commercial contracts to raising over $500M in new capital. We’re based in San Francisco and have $75.5M in funding from top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, SV Angel, Greylock, and more. Atrium aims to disrupt Big Law and the $160 billion corporate legal services market.
We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our commercial transactions practice, called Atrium Contracts. Our team advises Atrium clients on the drafting, negotiation, and review of commercial agreements, and the Contracts Manager will play a central role.
This role  will have two primary responsibilities: negotiating commercial agreements, and working with our attorneys and product teams to develop contracts administration services for Atrium clients. The ideal candidate will take great pride in their organizational, drafting, and negotiation skills, serving both external clients and internal teams as a key player in the development of our commercial contracts practice. This role differs from a traditional contracts administrative role in that you will have a greater variety of clients, be encouraged to think entrepreneurially about how to offer your services to our clients, and have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position and manage the contracts management offering within one of legal tech’s fastest growing startups.

What would you be doing?

    • Draft, review, and analyze commercial agreements for a wide variety of startup clients
    • Develop and implement commercial agreement playbooks for Atrium clients
    • Apply your experience with enterprise-level contract negotiation to our client base of hyper-growth startups
    • Working on teams to develop strategies for making the review of general form agreements more efficient
    • Integrate with and advise client teams as an external administrator of their deal process
    • Offer expert consultation to our legal and product teams on the development of best practices, processes, playbooks, and automation of Atrium’s contract management offerings

What does success look like in this role?

    • JD, bar membership, paralegal, or comparable certification not required, but strong working knowledge of enterprise level contracts and negotiations is needed
    • 4+ years experience on an in-house legal team drafting, reviewing, negotiation, particularly customer and vendor agreements for technology companies (SaaS, SOWs for services agreements, supplier/procurement agreements, other commercial agreements)
    • Preference for candidates with experience managing other contracts managers (but not required)
    • Preference for candidates with some experience working in an AmLaw 100 law firm (but not required)
    • Deep technical interest in contract law
    • Highly organized and diligent
    • Pride in your work, and eager to show others (clients, team members) the value of your work
    • Great team player
    • Entrepreneurial, excited for the novel challenge of building a client-facing contract management function within a startup law firm

What would you get from Atrium?

    • The rare opportunity to join one of the hottest SF startups with $65M in new funding. We're not just another legal tech company disrupting a traditional industry, we're transforming how legal services are provided!
    • Compensation and benefits competitive with Bay Area AmLaw 100 firms, includes equity in Atrium LTS
    • Catered lunch daily, Bevi machine, endless coffee, and snacks
    • A collaborative work environment where your input is highly valued
    • San Francisco office across from 4th & King CalTrain with large private patio and views of downtown
