The mission of Canva’s Design School is to help empower everyone in the world to design. Our goal is to build the best online “campus” to learn design in the world, and boost retention and engagement with Canva’s platform by providing inspirational content, how-to videos, interactive tutorials and foster a global community to support each other. 
 
A strategically minded producer, you’ll drive the content roadmap and execution to build and grow our Design School, which we aspire to take the best parts of Masterclass, Creative Live, and Coursera and become known as the best place to learn design. You’ll bring together a host of skills to help us build out the best place on the Web to learn design. You’ll have a background in production and instructional design, and know how to create engaging content for the Web.
 
You’ll work with a talented internal video, design, email, social and product team to bring our Design School to life. While you’ll have some support from an extended team (who are juggling a range of other projects), you’ll be willing to roll up your sleeves and create a lot of our content. You’ll be a metrics-driven producer who can work with a range of stakeholders to develop exceptional content, build an audience, and deliver on business outcomes.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritise our content development, crafting highly engaging inspirational content across video, written guides, interactive tutorials and peer learning
  • Boost retention across our platform by providing inspiration and empowering our community to create amazing designs using Canva
  • Research a wide range of topics and craft content alongside our internal designer, videographer, content writers and social media editor — you could be producing content on Crafting an Amazing Presentation, Colour Theory, and Building a Brand all at the same time
  • Ability to think visually and analytically to come up with new concepts for our courses and content
  • Project manage delivery of a number of courses simultaneously, owning the process through research and planning, content development, production, editing, promotion and measurement
  • Upload and curate content on our Design School platform
  • Ability to coordinate diverse teams of people to deliver and execute
  • Work within Canva’s brand (and help further cement) to build consistency 
  • Translate quantitative metrics, design research, user feedback, and user research into a cohesive documentation of lessons and activities
  • Develop educational and interesting assignments & learning tools to accompany lessons

Who you'll be

  • Have 5+ years experience in production, instructional design, and online learning
  • Naturally creative: you don’t need to be a designer, but you need to have an eye for the visual, and the ability to learn quickly
  • You’ll have incredible organisational skills and attention to detail
  • You love data, and know how to use both quantitative and qualitative measures to develop and improve content and delivery
  • You demonstrate a high degree of judgement and can juggle a diverse range of priorities
  • Able to influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Can balance working individually and autonomously with working in and alongside a range of teams — you’re comfortable being part of a team, leading projects, or owning things; whatever the job calls for!
  • While we won’t be taking any blood samples, we’d love to see some Startup DNA – you will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and take ownership of deliverables and outcomes – ya gotta have hustle
