Responsibilities

Extole's Director of Finance is a member of the executive team and a key business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, senior management, and our Board of Directors. As the senior financial officer of the business, you will have responsibility for strategic and operational financial and accounting processes.

The Director of Finance provides Extole with analytical information and judgment to profitably grow the business while maintaining the integrity of financial information by establishing best in class systems and controls. The individual demonstrates executive presence and the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts, as well as understand business drivers.

What you'll be doing

  • Be an inspiring business leader who quickly earns trust and credibility and provides strategic leadership to CEO and leadership team
  • Lead all financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting, financial preparation / presentation; and translate into actionable insights for strategic planning, cash flow management, financing, and board/investor meetings
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes; prepare financial statements and reports
  • Evaluate and improve processes and systems to identify opportunities to streamline and focus current efforts to ensure operational excellence and support of overall business growth
  • Implement organizational policies, operating procedures, and business controls that ensure sustainable business growth
  • Manage independent financial statement audits
  • Ensure debt and tax compliance
  • Advise on strategic partnerships with a focus on deal analysis, forecasting, and business planning
  • Help manage internal and external relationships with a wide range of constituents including board of directors, employees, investment bankers, investors, commercial bankers, business partners, vendors, customer, lawyers and audit professionals
  • Manage 409A valuations, maintain cap table
  • Manage and coach staff accountant

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Domain experience in venture-growth stage technology companies; experience with SaaS business model/SaaS metrics preferred
  • Data-driven leader with multi-layered understanding of business economics and drivers
  • Experience managing external contacts such as auditors, tax accountants, investors, investment bankers, industry analysts, strategic partners, customers, vendors and others
  • Experience leading a company through financing and M&A transactions would be a plus
  • Ability to prepare multi-period (monthly, quarterly, annual) projections and performance reporting for P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet
  • Previous experience building teams, implementing planning systems, and processes to facilitate the regular, accurate updates of forecast data in rapidly growing organization
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop concise and well-organized summaries of analyses and data appropriate for Board level review
  • Attention to detail, good organizational skills and strong analytical skills are required
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online, Salesforce, bill.com, Yaypay are pluses
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent related field
