Overview
 
The Compensation Manager will be reporting to the Director of Finance and will collaborate with both the finance and HR team.
 
The ideal candidate will be a go-getter with a doer mentality and a  great attitude. They should have a strong payroll background, great eye for detail, and a strong commitment to process improvement.

Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for our US offices; review and ensure accuracy of payroll changes and timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
    • Communicate, review and approve payroll changes to our third-party payroll providers in EMEA and APAC, ensuring a timely and accurate delivery of our global payrollsPrepare off cycle payrolls for terminations and commissions
    • Oversee and own the compensation plan process by participating in the compensation committee, reviewing, updating and communicating the commission plans. Maintain the commission tool Xactly.
    • Prepare and review sales commission calculations and provide monthly reports to sales employeesPrepare payroll journal entry for Finance
    • Be the point of contact for all employee pay questions, responding to inquiries in a timely mannerEnsure accurate reporting and tax withholding on employee wages, benefits in kind, stock option exercises, and relocation expenses.
    • Assist in all payroll related filings (HCSO, EDD etc.) and review quarterly 941 provided from payroll provider.
    • Lead year end payroll process and review of W2, and similar reporting for international subsidiariesAdminister stock option grants, exercises and cancellations in our stock administration tool
    • Own the stock option planning model
    • Review and reconcile benefit provider invoices and deductions
    • Support external audits.

Qualifications & Experience

    • Experience processing multi-state US payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state, tax regulations, pertaining to payroll and equity.A clear, approachable, and friendly communication style and customer service focus.
    • A mind for detail—you can tell when something’s off, and you won’t rest until it’s fixed.
    • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Excellent accuracy, especially under tight deadlines.
    • Knowledge of proper tax treatment of benefits (benefits in kind, pensions, maternity leave).
    • Strong Excel skills (incl. Pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
    • Accounting knowledge–understanding of payroll journal entries, monthly close, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
