ABOUT THE ROLE

Upserve is hiring an experienced Network Administrator who will be a critical member of our Technical Operations team. In this role, the Network Administrator will apply their advanced networking knowledge and experience to increase network uptime and performance. With physical responsibility spanning across the entire network hardware infrastructure from the WAN/LAN edge to ethernet ports and WiFi SSID availability, they will enable Upserve's business operations by identifying areas for process improvement around monitoring and incident response. Additionally, the Network Administrator will provide expertise and guidance to the Customer Support team to better maintain and manage customer Meraki deployment by providing advanced oversight of standards, uptime, and support practices.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide high availability, manage, maintain, and continually improve office network infrastructure in Providence, Denver, and other points of presence for Upserve
  • Ensure network security by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation
  • Create and maintain documentation and provide training in support of network operations
  • Manage incident response for operationally-impacting connectivity issues
  • Manage and maintain phone systems for sales & support teams Manage vendor relationships for ISP, telephony, and network infrastructure hardware
  • Manage Meraki standards for Upserve POS Meraki deployments
  • Act as a mentor and subject matter expert to tier 2 and tier 3 support representatives for networking

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS, MIS, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of networking experience with Routers, Switches, WAN, LAN, VoIP, Telecom in support of multi-location organizations
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning
  • ITIL Foundations v3 certification or working knowledge thereof
  • Experience with cloud telco providers (Fuze, inContact preferred)
  • Experience with firewalls & VPNs - Meraki, Ruckus, and Cisco preferred
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP—addressing, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.), and transport protocols (UDP and TCP)
  • Strong understanding of network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP
  • Knowledge of scripting language such as python
  • Cisco Certifications strongly preferred (CCNA, CCDA)
