The Launch System Configuration Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining robust processes to ensure the configuration of the VECTOR launch system within the NX/Teamcenter toolset. This role is for a dynamic, self-starting individual with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position located at our Huntington Beach, CA facility.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Work with Engineering to plan and document the as-designed launch system product structure in-line with customer requirements, within the NX/Teamcenter toolset
  • Work with Engineering, Launch Operations and Manufacturing to ensure that the launch system configuration meets the customer requirements
  • Create a clear road map for vehicle configuration and Teamcenter implementation, including future toolset upgrades to support vehicle development and volume manufacture
  • Provide subject matter expertise on launch system configuration and Teamcenter implementation
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise during testing and implementation of Teamcenter system upgrades and enhancements
  • Where necessary, lead Teamcenter development resources and provide oversight for testing of configured/developed code and enhancements
  • Work with VECTOR leadership and Quality to ensure consistent and robust engineering data management processes, both within VECTOR and its suppliers

This job might be for you if you have these:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Electrical/ Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or equivalent is required
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management within the Space/Aerospace industry
  • 3+ years of relevant Teamcenter experience
  • Proven track record of working in cross functional teams to develop and improve tools and processes to ensure system configuration
  • Experience in configuration management, manufacturing engineering, or design engineering
  • Strong understanding of aerospace product development and design processes
  • Proven ability to develop engineering process and PLM solutions
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

It would be impressive if you also have these:

  • 10+ years of experience in Teamcenter, PLM system designs, and Teamcenter implementations
  • Experience developing configuration management tools and processes within a Space/Aerospace industry
  • Experience 3D Modelling and Drafting using Siemens NX
  • Strong working knowledge of launch vehicle design and systems
  • BIG vision to reshape the multi-billion launch market
  • Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team
