Global Sourcing Manager at Eero

eero is looking for a Mechanical Sourcing Manager to play a critical role in the overall success of eero’s product fulfillment model. Their role is to manage the commercial and business relationships between eero and its Asia Based mechanical supply chain, interfacing directly with those vendors as well as eero’s hardware engineering, product management and operations management teams. 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage all commercial aspects with mechanical parts vendors, including achieving cost savings goals through negotiation, managing risk, building relationships and resolving open issues with a cross functional team
  • Select suppliers who can support eero’s evolving supply chain
  • Define tooling strategies to reduce delivery timing risk and drive best costs while working within the constraints of eero’s tooling and mechanical engineering resources
  • Develop cost models for NPI programs to forecast product cost at launch and lay out options to reduce cost for product management and executive teams
  • Build relationships with Asian suppliers to support health ongoing commercial relationships and have the right escalation contact point when eero needs to receive additional allocation of resources
  • Own forward costing estimates for sustaining production cost forecasts to finance; work with supply chain to validate costs paid to contract manufacturers are correct
  • Analyze supplier cost structure and competitive landscape to identify and negotiate cost saving opportunities and mitigate cost increases
  • Develop and execute buying strategies for mechanical parts and proactively obtain executive approval for risk buys where needed
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to transition new products (NPI) and product enhancements from engineering pilot production to full production
  • Support engineering requests for engineering changes (ECO’s) and track NRE changes with suppliers
  • Drive quarterly supplier performance scorecard evaluations

 

Minimum required skills & traits:

  • Procurement skill, with ethics above reproach
  • BS / BA degree is required; Master will be a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills (English required, Mandarin, Vietnamese and/or Cantonese is a plus) - verbal, written and technical communication
  • Travel up to 30% of time to China Suppliers with occasional unplanned, spur of the moment travel to Asia
