Content Marketing Coordinator at Upserve

As a member of the content marketing team, you will ideate, produce, distribute and measure the performance of content across various channels. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will serve as a writer for an array of multimedia content that delves into the needs, trends and hot topics of restauranteurs and their employees.


You will be well-versed in SEO writing and have a keen eye for copyediting, finely honed interviewing skills, the discipline to pay close attention to details and understand what it takes to research, analyze, and produce engaging content for our target audience. You'll also work closely with Upserve's marketing team to monitor, engage and excite a community of restaurant owners, operators and employees, both on social media channels and on our own digital properties. Employing our core values of empathy and curiosity, you'll help establish a go-to source for restauranteurs seeking collaboration and information.



  • Writing and/or editing short and long form content including restaurant feature articles covering all aspects of restaurant industry (example here) - at least five per week
  •  Collaborating and drafting columns from the restaurateur’s perspective (example here) - at least one per week
  •  Seeking out and attracting influencers the independent restaurant industry to join and contribute to our content and community
  • Moderating and growing our online community to spark and enhance continual conversations
  • Developing and managing pool of freelancers to cover select markets
  • Analyzing and reporting on engagement and traffic trends, particularly from social and referral channels, to drive up performance and growth
  • Collaborating with Director of Communications to identify opportunities for press placements

You should have an eye for how content is presented and displayed, not only written. This role will be measured by impact to traffic, conversion and community engagement.


  • 1-2 years experience in writing and editing features within a media setting (newspaper, magazine, digital and/or broadcast media)
  • Portfolio of blog posts/articles/features previously produced
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics for traffic measurement
  • Preference for candidates with background in food and/or restaurant coverage
  • Prior experience managing freelance writers and/or photographers preferred
  • Prior experience writing for SEO preferred.
