Director, Business Intelligence at LiveIntent

We are seeking a Director, Business Intelligence to join our Strategy & Planning department. This position is responsible for leading the design and development of business intelligence systems and tools for structuring, organizing, storing, retrieving, analyzing and reporting data. You will work cross-functionally to build out the vision for LiveIntent’s BI function and lead a team responsible for providing senior management and the corporation at large with metrics and tools for assessing LiveIntent’s products and platform. 


  • Become a trusted partner to department leaders and executives while educating stakeholders on the value of business intelligence solutions and how to use them successfully
  • Provide strategic analyses and ad hoc reporting to business leaders and executive team to help solve complex business problems
  • Work closely with product team to understand existing and new products/features, and translate reporting needs into product and engineering requirements as needed
  • Improve the quality of reporting by creating easy to follow weekly or monthly dashboards that key stakeholders will utilize to make informed business decisions
  • Utilize SQL, Excel, RStudioConnect and Looker to pull data into custom charts, tables, and to showcase the most critical series of actionable business metrics
  • Lead a team and foster an environment which leads to best in class results
  • Advise team on best practices in BI, advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, and lead implementation of new BI tools to manage client reporting and internal analytics
  • Mentor and coach on an ongoing basis to identify personal career objectives, and provide appropriate development opportunities based on individual needs


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or an analytically focused concentration required
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline a plus but not required
  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, reporting or business intelligence required
  • Proven track record of success in a similar role at an ad network or agency trading desk a huge plus; understanding of analytics and reporting as pertains to the ad tech ecosystem
  • Experience interfacing with and presenting to executives and senior management
  • Extensive knowledge of business intelligence tools and techniques; experience in strategic planning, development, implementation and maintenance of business intelligence solutions
  • Experience using Looker, RStudio, AWS (Redshift, Athena, S3) a huge plus
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including spreadsheet and relational database usage
  • Strong SQL skills: Utilize understanding of SQL to more efficiently organize and manage data warehousing
  • Ability to present opinions and thoughts with confidence and in a clear, unbiased manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas for a broader audience

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build organizational support for strategic initiatives
