The Human Resources Generalist performs HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director, Human Resources while providing organizational support to Talent Acquisition. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, scheduling, onboarding, policy implementation and improvement, recruitment/employment and employment law compliance. This role is for a dynamic, self-starting individual with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a contract position located at our facility in Huntington Beach, CA while providing remote support to our Headquarters based in Tucson, AZ.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Creates and updates processes and maintains procedure index for HR department
  • Coordinates benefits enrollments, communicates with service providers concerning administration of programs, investigates and corrects discrepancies.
  • Reconciles all benefits and HR-related invoices and processes requests for payment.
  • Administrative duties, including upkeep of employee records and routine employee correspondence.
  • Understands and explains company policies, programs, benefits and related information to new hires.
  • Ensures that weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Maintains and updates company training records; following-up to ensure compliance
  • Provide support for employees across all business functions ensuring a great employee experience
  • Provide scheduling support
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Organize and facilitate new hire orientation to create an awesome and memorable experience
  • Help employees to fully understand their benefits as well as provide some back-end support for compliance and reporting
  • Support day-to-day compliance activities such as I-9 verification (E-verify), EDD, unemployment claims and required postings

This job might be for you if you have these:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum (5) years of job-related expertise in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and principles of human resources including FMLA, ADA, benefit, and employee relations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team in a fast-paced, environment with varied projects
  • Excellent judgment and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvements and continuously simplify processes
  • Ability to handle concurrent tasks from multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate verbally and electronically to senior management and executive leadership regarding regular and unplanned requests for schedule-related information
  • Microsoft Suite to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point required; Experience with ADP, Adobe, Timekeeping systems, Accounts Payable software and ERP systems highly desirable
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours as needed

It would be impressive if you also have these:

  • Preferred Certification: PHR, PHRca, SHRM-CP and/or CIR
  • Greenhouse (ATS) proficiency a plus
