Director of Retention Marketing at Turo

We’re looking for an agile, creative, and intellectually curious Director of Retention Marketing that will make a BIG impact on a fast-growing business. You’re a data-driven entrepreneur that has a deep understanding of consumer psychology and how to build long-term relationships with our customers. You’ll lead the effort to get new customers to stay engaged with Turo, complete repeat trips, and remain loyal to the brand for many years. You’ll turbocharge the growth of the business by increasing average trips per user (ATPU) and ultimately customer lifetime value (LTV).

  • Own the vision for and execution of all retention & loyalty marketing initiatives at Turo
  • Dive into customer data and craft high-impact retention growth strategies at key points in the user funnel; using data, define customer segments that you’ll use to power personalized CRM and loyalty campaigns, driving growth from first-timers and power users alike
  • Work closely with our content, creative, and acquisition teams to build & iterate on retention marketing campaigns across key channels, such as email, push/in-app, social media, and direct mail
  • Partner with Product & Engineering teams to build features that turbocharge ATPU and LTV
  • Own and deploy our promotions budget with a focus on ROI; use A/B tests to measure results, iterate, then scale
  • Effectively communicate strategy, objectives, and performance results cross-functionally
  • Manage and hire a talented team of retention growth marketers

Position Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience in growth, marketing, CRM, product management, and/or related fields
  • Deep expertise in retention & loyalty for B2C businesses
  • Detailed understanding of best-in-class retention/CRM marketing tech stacks, including ESPs, mobile engagement software, tracking, tools, and data management
  • Results-driven marketer with proven quantitative and analytical skills; should be extremely comfortable with Excel and analytics reporting tools (e.g. DOMO, Looker, or Tableau); familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • Excellent creativity and natural eye for compelling brand creative
  • Senior presence, strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively cross-functionally
  • Exceptional project management and organization skills, with a keen eye for detail, requiring minimal supervision
  • Able to “roll up your sleeves” to do what is needed in urgent situations while maintaining a “big-picture” view. You are excited about the idea of working with a small team to get the job done, even if you need to do things outside of your direct job description
