Copywriter at Turo

We’re looking for a seasoned copywriter and content marketer who knows their way around tech product marketing for a consumer audience. This role represents a rich opportunity to join a small-but-mighty brand creative team who’s building the Turo brand from the ground up — from marketing messaging and advertising to in-product copy and internal branding.

The ideal candidate is a grammatical ninja with an eye for simplicity with sparkle, understands the nuances of content hierarchy, customer-centric copywriting, branding, user experience, and varying messaging tone by audience, and can think critically and strategically about creative projects. Jargony though some of that may sound, at the end of the day, we’re looking for an exceptional writer and a smart, kind person to help us elevate our brand and our team to new heights.

While, in true start-up style, we all wear a lot of hats, this role will be primarily focused on host and product marketing, as well as product (UX) copywriting.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and own UX copy, labels, etc., working in close collaboration with the copy leadership, product management, and product design teams to create elegant, seamless, and branded user experiences.
  • Write and own product marketing campaigns to drive adoption and buzz (emails, push notifications, landing pages, etc.)
  • Write and mastermind host-focused marketing initiatives (lifecycle content, landing pages, digital, print, video, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and researchers to overcome usability obstacles through copy.
  • Support the broader organization for copy or content marketing needs.
  • Proofread/edit external marketing materials or written collateral as needed.
  • Iteratively improve the Turo brand and product experience through testing and optimization.

Requirements:

  • BA in a relevant field (English, Humanities, Advertising, etc.)
  • 2-3 years B2B and/or B2C copywriting experience, agency or in-house is A-OK
  • Demonstrated top-notch writing and proofreading skills
  • A strong portfolio of work, including long-form and short-form copy, marketing examples, and at least one mobile UI case study
  • Deep knowledge of branding, style guides, and how copy works closely with design
  • Detail-oriented approach to writing
  • Experience working with design and user research teams
  • Experience writing copy specifically for mobile
  • Quick and adaptable learning style
  • Interest in automotive, mobility, the sharing economy, and/or two-sided marketplaces a plus
