Director of Global Rewards at Anaplan

We’re looking for an amazing DIRECTOR GLOBAL REWARDS to design, our rewards strategy, evolve our programs, and lead our compensation and benefits team through our next phase of growth.

At Anaplan, we’re on a journey to change the way work happens, based in SAN FRANCISCO and as the Leader of Compensation and Total Rewards you will play a pivotal role in that transformation by using our platform to change the way we plan for and deliver rewards (cash compensation, equity, and benefits). This role is both hands-on and strategic: scaling our comp and benefits infrastructure; evolving our programs; and managing a world-class team. In this role you will be key to empowering leaders with data to drive people decisions, and counseling business and HR partners. On a daily basis, you will create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data, and communicate your recommendations to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Partners, Finance, Legal and other business leaders.

Reporting to the VP of Total Rewards and HR Operations


 What you'll be doing:

  • Evolve Anaplan’s global compensation and total rewards strategy;
  • Lead and develop Anaplan’s total rewards team;
  • Collaborate and consult with HR business partners and talent acquisition team on offers, promotions, transfers, and develop policies and guidelines to support Anaplan’s continued growth;
  • Develop strategic partnerships with our finance, legal, and sales operations teams to deliver programs that are budget-aligned, market relevant, and compliant;
  • Develop training programs to educate leaders, managers, and colleagues on the company's compensation and benefits programs;
  • Work cross-functionally to develop sales compensation aligned to our go-to-market strategy;
  • Partner with the VP of Total Rewards, Chief People Officer, external consultants, BOD, and our executive leadership on compensation committee preparations
  • Research and share best practices and emerging trends in the compensation

More about you/Requirements:

  • You have built a number of large-scale reward or recognition programs from the ground up, at a high growth technology start-up. You understand the big picture around compensation and can use the various levers effectively. You are an expert on equity as a compensation tool and have experience with executive compensation.
  • 10+ years relevant experience managing compensation programs and processes at high-growth, technology, public company(s),
  • Focus on engineering/development talent landscape in highly competitive environments/geographies;
  • Proven track record of leading and building effective teams;
  • Unafraid to challenge the status quo with innovative ideas around Compensation and Total Rewards and its evolving role in technology companies;
  • Experience in a global environment- including an understanding of the system, financial, legal and tax implications of global Total Rewards programs.
  • Experience with corporate board’s Compensation Committees - either contributing the agenda, creating documents and/or as the internal lead.
  • Experience in building and communicating an equity value proposition, and managing candidate expectations around equity.
  • Experience working with Boards and Executive teams; influencing and partnering with leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, including distilling complex topics into digestible formats.
  • Experience and examples of "storytelling with data".  Using data to shift an approach or reinforce an idea/program/strategy.
  • A strong understanding of compensation best practices, current compensation trends, and survey data.
  • A deep commitment to customer service and empathy.
