About This Position
 
We’re seeking an electrical engineer to support development of advanced ion propulsion systems. This role focuses on creating custom, complex, high voltage circuitry to operate electrospray propulsion systems both for spaceflight and ground testing. These electronics are unique, precise and scalable. The position supports a larger, multidisciplinary team currently delivering products and researching future propulsion technology.
 
Key responsibilities include:
 
-         Circuit and PCB design to support research, test and product level development
-         Work with research, electrical and software engineering teams to develop test electronics as well as support flight electronics
-         Develop new control and data acquisition software in LabVIEW for research and product testing
-         Perform analysis and procurement of hardware to support electronics sub-system development and system-level testing
-         Support electronics testing through environmental testing such as vacuum, thermal-vacuum, shock and vibration
-         Participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and hardware readiness reviews for upcoming milestones and hardware deliveries
-         Contribute to requirements definition and development of test campaigns
-         Support advanced research into Accion’s future ion engine products using Accion’s custom electronics

-         Can work independently or on collaborative team
-         Strong hands-on engineering and prototyping skills
-         Experience with PCB schematic and layout design with Altium
-         Experience with Labview development
-         Understands best practices for testing electromechanical hardware
-         Knowledge of digital and mixed-signal circuit design for low-noise, high performance testing
-         Experience with small teams and fast-paced environments with limited resources
-         Ability to develop test plans to support verification and validation tests
-         Ability to assemble small electromechanical assemblies, integrate complex assemblies, and interface with multidisciplinary systems and teams
-     Attention to detail
-         Strong written and oral communication skills
