The Nextdoor Finance team is looking to hire an AP Accountant with full-cycle knowledge. This role will play an integral part in day-to-day operations and accounting close with opportunities to participate in ad hoc projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and process all vendor invoices timely in Bill.com
  • Review invoice coding on the invoice register
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders
  • Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons
  • Process expense reports in accordance with expense guidelines
  • Process and reconcile corporate credit card transactions
  • Responsible for monthly accounts payable journal entries, AP balance sheet reconciliations and Flux analysis.
  • Assist with gathering support for audits and PBCs
  • Process Journal Entries for expense reclasses when necessary
  • Review and Audit Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST, and Canadian Tax Treatment of invoices
  • Ad hoc analysis, special projects and tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Big ERP experience required (3+ recent years in AP Sub-ledger)
  • Tech savvy – intermediate knowledge of Excel and Google Suite required
  • AP experience required (4+ years), International AP experience preferred  
  • Passion for end to end procure-to-pay process and improvements
  • Knowledge of GAAP (US and international preferred)
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational controls
  • Accurate with a high attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment where adaptability is imperative
  • Positive can do attitude and must be a team player
  • Adherence to tight deadlines and quick turnaround for accounting deliverables
  • Bias towards excellent internal customer service
