You are the Voice of the Canva Customer
As part of the product and UX teams, you will be impacting the user experience of millions of people by capturing customer data and feedback from a range of sources and using it to drive insights that will underpin incredible new features on all our applications. You fundamentally believe that customer feedback can be a strategic advantage for Canva and is energised by hunting down and productising those insights.  
Working alongside Canva's founders, product, customer happiness and engineering teams, you'll build out Canva's Customer Insights program while giving the entire business the customer-backed insights they need to constantly be improving.

What you'll be doing

  • Build the new Voice of the Customer processes and product in the business that ties all user research and user data together, in a structured productised way, that in turn will help teams plan roadmaps, create new features and get the information they need.
  • Work closely with the data, customer happiness, product management an marketing teams, and others throughout the business to link up the necessary customer touchpoints to drive your insights engine; you’ll build the single source of truth for everything customer.
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, your team and the wider business to understand the vision and build a shared understanding.
  • Be responsible for executing and collaborating on user strategy, road mapping priorities, and training of other staff.
  • Coordination of sending surveys, survey creation and the analysis of survey data.
  • Utilising customer feedback, data analysis, market research and the experience of other teams internally to feed into the product roadmap and provide revolutionary product features and recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally with designers, software engineers, growth and marketing, and the founders to ensure we’re delivering an exceptional experience to our users.
  • Define and analyse key metrics to determine the success of product improvements.

You'll love this job if

  • You have at least 3+ years of experience in a customer / user insights / CX role for for a SaaS product, related online software product or digital product.
  • You have proven success in developing and implementing effective user centric products with proven results.
  • You have a passion for championing data-backed customer voice insights to product teams to enable the next generation of Canva products and experiences.
  • You are able to persuade stakeholders through compelling business cases built on data, customer empathy, systems thinking with Canva’s broader goals in mind.
  • You are constantly motivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do and keep everyone on track, ensuring everyone’s doing their best. You can rally the team to work together and make sure everyone is working effectively to reach their goals.
  • You have worked with engineers and have a solid understanding of web tech stacks. You’re familiar with the backend, frontend, and everything in between. You know that an engineer’s job is often to perfect the details; while your job is to map these details to the bigger picture. 
  • You feel at home when using data to make decisions—whether that’s customer service feedback, user research, survey feedback, or in-person user testing. When presented with competing imperatives and a mountain of data, you can identify and organize clear, concise actions, arriving at appealing and practical solutions to problems.
  • You are a problem solver who is excited by a challenge. You have a structured process to problem-solving and can take a problem—with many moving parts—and break it down into small achievable actions. You know when to be flexible though, and can alter your structure to fit the needs of the team and project. 
  • You are a user advocate that values the backing of research and data analysis when it comes to creating modern solutions, shipping new products, and addressing your users’ real needs.
  • You are excited by the prospect of working directly on shipping simple, beautiful products. You’re aware of what it takes to get from envisioning ideas to delivering the final product.
  • You consider yourself a bit of a creative. You enjoy pushing the limits of what is possible, dreaming up inventive solutions to solve challenging problems. You believe in Canva’s mission and want to be part of the team making it possible.
