Responsibilities

Your day-to-day (As a Creative Director, you’ll):

 

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the creative services team including designers, copywriters, and external vendors with a strong ability grow the team through encouragement and constructive feedback 
  • Meet with project owners for large integrated campaigns during pre-sales to brainstorm and present new ideas. You’ll help bolster the quality of the proposal and/or deliverables with support from the managers as appropriate
  • Envision concepts for high-level campaigns and provide creative guidance, feedback, and re-alignment to meet project requirements and timelines as needed
  • Direct and manage the overall development and execution of all creative assets for marketing campaigns including video and interactive
  • Drive and evolve the expression of the Spiceworks brand across all communication channels
  • Collaborate with Spiceworks marketing stakeholders on experimenting, monitoring, and iterating on messages and creative
  • Assess infrastructure/staffing needs and implement best practices to further scale creative development and project volume as needed
  • Collaborate with other business stakeholders including product marketing and sales enablement

What does it take to do this job?

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a creative setting, ideally in a digital agency, service business, or other customer facing role
  • 5+ years of managerial experience; a strong leader with an excellent eye for copy, design, and typography with the ability to deliver constructive feedback on projects
  • Excellent communication, visual, and verbal storytelling skills and the proven ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization
  • A creative spirit that can’t help but brainstorm new innovations and ideas, including a portfolio that showcases some!
  • Experience in conducting client brainstorming sessions on creative concepts with the ability to effectively oversee the project to completion with the team
  • A confident and reliable work style that leaves a spectrum of personalities assured that their project is in good hands
  • Experience driving processes that bring “method-to-the-madness” of the client-services world 
  • Top notch time management skills; Impeccable attention to detail
  • A can-do – better yet a will-do – attitude with a work ethic that just won’t quit  
  • Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies, and their application and relevance to digital media and consumer consumption
  • Experience with B2B marketing in the tech industry is a huge plus
