Anaplan’s Industry and Solutions team is looking for a Solutions Lead to develop and drive the sales, go-to-market and partner strategy for the solutions that address the opportunity in the finance space. The position carries a high degree of accountability for delivering growth that outperforms Anaplan and market norms. The primary responsibility will be to develop and shepherd the execution of a strategy that capitalizes on Anaplan’s key competitive advantages by providing “only Anaplan” solutions to customers. The job will require effective relationship and credibility building with Anaplan’s field organization, partners, executive leadership team, and collaborating functions such as Presales, Alliances, and Customer Success.


As a Solutions Lead, you will be responsible for the growth and competitive strategy for your solution portfolio and for the successful execution of that strategy in collaboration with many groups within and outside of Anaplan. You will be expected to be able to excel at performing these leadership activities, and others, in a fluid, high growth SaaS environment:

  • Define and educate peers on the industry value chain for your space, or how customers create value
  • Provide expertise on the workings of the planning processes that support that value chain
  • Apply Anaplan’s competitive advantage to provide a specific solutions strategy to convert the addressable market described in the above
  • Lead test-and-learn activities directly with partners, customers and field personnel to refine messaging and strategy
  • Direct the efforts of individual contributors in supporting functions like Solution Development, Solution Marketing, and Market Development
  • “Run the room” in discussions with senior executives at partners and customers
  • Demonstrate the adaptability required in adjusting your strategy and approach to external and internal disruptions
  • Above all, conduct your work with a high degree of customer focus and personal agency and be able to convey in concise terms the impact of your work above and beyond market momentum


A successful Solution Lead will have the right combination of front-line focus and relationships, thought leadership, industry expertise, strategic and intellectual flexibility, and GSD mindset. We expect demonstrated skills in business strategy, consultative selling, team leadership, quantitative analysis, and product or solution messaging. Qualified candidates will be comfortable presenting complex ideas crisply and concisely in structured or free-form settings to senior executives within and outside of previous places of employment.

Example backgrounds could include:

  • “Pre-partner” or partner roles at larger management consulting firms
  • Product or GTM leadership positions at SaaS companies
  • Top level management positions at boutique or specialized SIs
  • Entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial tenures at B2B enterprises
  • Industry leadership positions directly relevant to the solution space


  • Persuasive presentation message crafting skills, with demonstrated ability to create messaging used by others
  • Experience in high-growth, performance-focused environments
  • Demonstrated eagerness and ability to work in start-up-based high-growth, performance-focused environment with lots of ambiguity
  • Familiarity and fluency with planning processes relevant to your space
  • High personal accountability and agency to drive change beyond the normal course of business
  • Experience as a customer, partner or member of consultancies
  • Demonstrated strengths in evangelizing new concepts and gaining buy-in from stakeholders
  • A “planner’s mindset” – planners are our customers – balanced with an entrepreneurial bias to action
  • An aversion to the comforts of convention
  • Experience with selling enterprise SaaS a plus
  • Experience with the Anaplan product a strong plus
