Product Manager, Aviation at Spire

Spire is a satellite powered data company that owns and operates one of the world’s largest satellite constellations and ground station networks collecting high-value data from space.

We are looking for a Product Manager to manage a data-centric API led product that translates our proprietary aviation ADS-B data to actionable information under the AirSafe brand. In this position, you will work closely with the ADS-B data and technical teams in the company and will be responsible for ensuring the success of the service in the market in close collaboration with the sales team. You will coordinate with the product managers across all products and will act as the internal and external expert and evangelist. In this role, you will have significant direct visibility and engagement with VP and Senior Management level executives.

Responsibilities of Your Role:

  • Drive the vision and strategy for the development and delivery of the Spire ADS-B aviation solution
  • Be the voice of the customer, by serving as the product evangelist with a 120% customer driven mindset
  • Identify and assess user needs in combination with civil aviation regulatory requirements that will translate into product delivery impacting revenue growth
  • Work directly with the Product Engineering leads to plan and execute the product roadmap with fast iteration cycles
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales an d customer success team to execute against go-to-market campaigns and deliver customer engagement plans
  • Act as subject matter expert and advise various internal, partner, and customer teams

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent plus 5-10 years related experience in product management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to translate technical details to non-technical users and vice versa
  • Experience working on projects/programs implementing software and process solutions in a high-performance agile development environment
  • Strong relationship building, influencing, communication and facilitation skills during times of uncertainty, rapid change, aggressive timelines, budget constraints and operational requirements

Strong candidates will also possess skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Familiarization with ICAO GADSS mandate and CAA regulations that impact ADS-B
  • Proven experience in driving product development under a customer focused mindset.
  • Display strong writing skills and the ability to communicate and present arguments and recommendations via the written word (i.e. writing)
  • Ability to lead remote team efforts and partner across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to articulate technical issues in terms of business risk
  • Delivery focused, willingness to perform all tasks required to complete the job and meet deadlines
