Responsibilities:  

You will be one of the key pillars as we build out our finance team.  This role offers the opportunity to own responsibilities across both financial operations and financial planning & analysis.  Ultimately, you will be a trusted advisor to senior management on all things finance related.

Within Financial Operations, you will:

  • Manage all billing, payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payables
  • Negotiate and monitor contracts, leases, and vendors
  • Lead all internal financial audits, and be the point of contact for external audits
  • Oversee foreign exchange and currency management
  • Proactively identify potential operational and financial risks
  • Build and maintain the financial operating model
  • Lead the end to end budgeting and forecasting cycle
  • Tracking ongoing performance of KPIs, and compare forecast & actual results  
  • Analyze profitability and performance of all product lines
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting and reconciliation
  • Prepare financial reporting for board meetings and external investors
  • Assist in creating business cases to support project recommendations

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • A self-starter who has the ability to prioritize multiple competing projects
  • Excellent data analytics skills and strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally with multiple business units
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related field
  • Completion (or on track to completion) of a CPA, CA, or CMA designation

Nice to Have:

  • Basic understanding of the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Periscope, Tableau etc)
  • Worked at or founded a startup (i.e. built something)
  • Technically savvy and up to date all technology trends and developments
