Support & Deployment Team Lead at Starship

Starship Technologies is developing the future of delivery – self-driving robots that bring parcels, groceries and food to people around the world.
Hundreds of robots are currently driving along sidewalks across the United States and four countries in Europe, as part of commercial pilots. Soon we hope there will be thousands of delivery robots around the world.
We are looking for an experienced Support & Deployment Team Leader to join our growing team and help keep our fleet of robots healthy. Our support and deployment team is responsible for the wellbeing, planning and logistics of our robots and infrastructure. Your role is to grow the team internationally (the team is distributed through Estonia, Germany, the UK and the US), and build up effective systems that would scale across the locations. 
 

You will be the ideal candidate if you have:

    • A passion for robots and innovative technologies
    • An ability to successfully build an effective support team 
    • An outstanding ability to leadto team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and development
    • An ability to effectively identify patterns and problem areas, and implement solutions to drive increased efficiency, productivity, and quality
    • The analytical skills to enhance procedures, workflows, and systems
    • A basic knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, CLI tools and scripting
    • A good knowledge of mechanics, electronics and IT
    • Tangible work experience in enterprise technical support, IT support or as a technical engineer
    • Confidence in liaising with other departments, including Engineering, Mapping and Operations to ensure efficient information transfer, to improve and optimize our products and systems

What you will need:

    • 3+ years' experience managing a Technical Support or Maintenance team 
    • Previous experience with manufacturing, servicing and logistics is a plus
    • Excellent organization and attention-to-detail, and an ability to think at a systems level
    • You must be a data-driven decision maker, comfortable with setting targets and managing to metrics.
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Experience managing remote and global teams is a plus

Job specifics:

    • Full time contract with a 4-month trial period as per Estonian law
    • Location: Tallinn, Estonia
