About the Role
 
Imperfect is growing its design team! We’re looking for an experienced designer to lead our visual evolution as a brand. You love all aspects of design, but are particularly drawn to branding, packaging, and design systems–and you have a strong portfolio that showcases all three. Ideally you’ve worked in-house or agency-side with Creative Directors, creating visual systems that are both beautiful and strategic. In this role, you’ll own all design projects (print and digital) and Imperfect’s overall visual identity–conceptualizing, designing, and producing communications and an experience that reflects the uniqueness of the Imperfect brand.

Responsibilities

    • Oversee all design projects, from concept to delivery
    • Own and refine brand guidelines
    • Design, layout, and organize production-ready print and digital communications, such as: weekly box inserts, weekly emails, partnership collateral, event invites, signage, templates, web pages, SWAG (T-shirts, mugs, etc.), advertisements, promotional materials, charts, infographics, letterheads, and special projects and initiatives as needed
    • Design packaging solutions for our private label product range, and help build a branded packaging architecture as this range grows
    • Help design and style assets, GIFs, videos, stories, posts for social media
    • Maintain digital file archives and track and manage multiple versions, assets, photos, etc. to ensure design files are organized and backed up correctly
    • Work both within the brand team (copywriters, photographers) and across teams (Supply, Operations, People, Growth, Email, etc.)
    • Work closely with the product and engineering team, to ensure the Imperfect brand is consistent across platforms
    • Manage a junior designer and ensure their work is high quality and on-brand

Skills and Qualifications

    • At least 4-6 years of professional experience building brands in either an agency or in-house environment
    • Expert proficiency with standard graphic design and production software: Adobe Creative Suite
    • Expertise in creating design systems, brand identities that align with brand architecture
    • Ability to work with multiple priorities (30+ projects per week) and meet tight deadlines
    • Adept at creating packaging and new product lines
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, fine arts, or related field
    • Experience in print production - ability to prepare, export and send files to print error free.

Details of Position

    • Full-time, exempt position
    • Position is based out of out San Francisco headquarters in the Bayview
    • Option to work 1-2 days remotely per week
    • Salary and stock options commensurate with experience

Physical Requirements

    • Sedentary work; predominantly involves sitting most of the time
    • Standing desks and / or other ergonomic accommodation is available upon request
