Software Engineer II at Upserve

Upserve Inc, seeks Software Engineer II for the Providence, RI office to perform development of financial processing software applications and payment processors utilizing knowledge of gift/loyalty card process flow and APIs; Design algorithms and perform analysis on data secured through software application and; Manage data export pipeline to integrate and utilize a third-party embedded analytics platform such as GoodData).

 

 

Requirements

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 1 year of experience in software development. Experience is also required in the following which may be gained concurrently:

  • 1 year experience in software development of financial processing applications;
  • 1 year experience in Ruby and Java to use server-side frameworks like Rails, and REST/GraphQL to power web apps; 
  • 1 year experience in relational databases such as MySQL to develop and maintain backend databases;
  • 1 year experience employing Amazon Web Services (such as ECS, S3, dynamoDB) and Docker to handle and operate distributed cloud systems;
  • 1 year experience employing append-only database to develop and maintain  NoSQL DBMS and handle high-traffic customer requests from client users;
  • 1 year experience employing gift/loyalty card process flows and APIs to build/integrate payment processors and ensure application stability; and
  • 1 year experience utilizing Agile Scrum and test-driven development methodology, employing unit test tools such as Ruby-RSpec
