At Anaplan, we are looking for a self-motivated UNIVERSITY CONNECT RELATIONSHIP MANAGER to join our growing team of colleagues with a passion for seeding the ecosystem with Anaplan-skilled early talents, and the motivation to work with professors across all disciplines to bring Anaplan into the classroom in a way that inspires educators and provides students with an innovative learning experience.  Part sales executive, part coach, part instructor, part program creator – a relationship manager on our team is a jack of all trades, and is the perfect role for someone who likes to tackle a new challenge every day!

Anaplan’s mission is to break the traditional business planning models currently performed with  spreadsheets or old legacy systems and replace them with Anaplan’s Business Planning Cloud Platform, enabling customers around the world to use it as their spine of decision-making right across their connected company. The office of the Chief Planning Officer, where the University Connect program resides, is driving connected planning thought leadership and are strong advocates for the impact it has in driving business transformation. 

University Connect contributes by providing students with an amazing hands-on learning experience with the Anaplan platform and empowers faculty to bring  connected planning concepts to life in the classroom.  It connects these Anaplan-skilled students to our customers/partners for projects and amazing job opportunities.  We need to reach thousands of students in the next several years – our team must think big and act boldly -- at scale -- to accomplish our mandate.

The relationship manager will be working with universities across the United States and Canada, so your location is somewhat flexible, although we prefer candidates in the Boston, NYC, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle or Denver areas.  In all cases, proximity to an airport is key.  At Anaplan, we are dedicated to making sure all employees feel part of the team and we make it a point to use our conference calling technology to video chat so you always feel connected. This role is an immediate full-time position, reporting to the Senior Director, Global University Connect. If you have a strong desire to make a difference for students, professors and the Anaplan ecosystem -- and -- you are ready to roll up your sleeves and GSD (get stuff done), keep reading.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify prospective University Connect member institutions, and introduce the value of University Connect to university administrators and educators, and demonstrate Anaplan via standard use cases – close the deal to increase program membership
  • Engage with existing University Connect members to deepen their relationship with Anaplan – expand platform use into more courses, more degree programs/departments, more colleges within a university
  • Coach educators on best practices for bringing Anaplan platform into the classroom
  • Share the Anaplan story, solution use cases/product demos, and customer successes to classes, with student clubs and at other on-campus events
  • Act as matchmaker between University Connect member, our customer/partners, and teams within Anaplan with need for Anaplan-skilled early talents
  • Engage the larger business and education community through the Anaplan Community and our social media platforms
  • Plan and execute key University Connect events (hackathons, workshops, participation at key conferences)
  • Partner with teams across Anaplan to further refine the University Connect program offerings and resources, simply processes
  • Be a creative problem solver and contributor to continually enhance the value University Connect provides to our stakeholders

 

You have:

  • BA / BS in business or IS discipline; masters / MBA is preferred
  • 5 - 10 years in software sales, business / IT consulting or corporate training focusing on introducing software solutions, building and executing demos, identifying value proposition, recommending go-forward approach, engaging with all levels within an organization
  • OR 5 - 10 years experience in academia as a faculty member, administrator or program leader with experience in positioning university / university services, driving innovative approaches to complex challenges, or experience teaching in a business discipline where courses included an enterprise technology platform and other innovative methods to improve student outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience in / understanding of Higher Education industry
  • Familiarity with instructional design, curriculum / content development and adult learning principles
  • Exceptional communication skills – both oral and written
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple relationships / initiatives at same time – and deliver all on-time / on-budget
  • Fast learner, self-starter and problem solving skills are a must
  • Significant experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional team
  • Highly customer-centric focus
  • “Get stuff done” attitude and work ethic
  • Experience coaching / mentoring others
  • Strong network you can leverage; skills to expand network to support role

  • Salesforce (our CRM of choice)

 

Bonus points:

  • Experience with implementing Anaplan, building Anaplan models, or teaching Anaplan courses
  • Experience as adjunct or full-time instructor at a university
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Connected planning expertise
