The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Management will help client groups delineate manufacturing strategy and vision, design and implement manufacturing process and systems which align with business objectives, having a measurable impact on growth. S/he will also be responsible for coordinating with engineering teams to review drawings and provide feedback for manufacturability and obsolescence. This position will track suppliers progress and also coordinate suppliers feedback with the engineers in regard to changes required for ease of manufacturability. The individual will work with suppliers on non-conforming hardware and properly disposition hardware through engineering coordination. This role is for a dynamic, self-starting individual with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position located at our facility in Huntington Beach, CA, with periodic travel to our Production facility in Tucson, AZ.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Manage supply base from concept to end of life to ensure Continuity of Supply (COS) with the right materials driving plan in place and on time delivery, on Quality
  • Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support existing platforms and new product development
  • Drive internal and external continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers
  • Identify any shortcomings or gaps related to the supply chain and integrate with Program management and scheduling
  • Collectively collaborate with the Engineering team to find and source suppliers to meet the needs of the company
  • Coordinate non-conforming hardware dispositions and manage the material review board process
  • Manage root cause and corrective action plans for discrepant hardware
  • Review drawings and provide feedback to improve manufacturability to reduce costs and lead times
  • Demonstrated skills in manufacturing/assembly/integration/test processes

This job might be for you if you have these:

  • BS or BA degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Operations or related field is required
  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Project Engineering, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 25 lbs (unassisted)
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours minimum
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

It would be impressive if you also have these:

  • Experience managing project scope, change requests, delivery against defined milestones; mitigate and remediate risk factors and propose solutions based on best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments within a structured implementation methodology
  • Experience contributing to requests for proposals (RFP), client presentations, detailing scope of work (SOW)
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Experience preferred in fast-paced production environment

  • Ability to work independently as well as a cross-functional team
