We are looking for a high energy, analytical, results driven Human Resources Specialist with payroll experience and a solid knowledge of various HR functions and administrative responsibilities required for a growing company.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Key owner of payroll administration, including vendor management and all compliance. Will help/advise on process improvement
  • Ensure payroll liabilities are met on time by verifying and reporting on employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Assist with setting up new earnings and deduction codes, pay rules, holiday schedules, accrual profiles, etc.
  • Serve as an internal resource and point of contact for all FMLA, Workers Compensation and Americans with Disabilities Act inquires. 
  • Administer employee leave and benefit programs, keeping up to date on current industry practices, developments, and government regulations related to employee leave provisions. Identifies issues and concerns as they arise and proactively recommends a plan for resolution.
  • Interpret and understands all relevant and required documentation for certifying or denying leaves according to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.   
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable regulations, including FLSA laws, State Labor Codes and tax regulations. Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws and reporting requirements (EEO, VETS, AAP, 1094/1095-C, and other reporting as requested). 
  • Provides timely and accurate information and responses to employees and managers on general HR questions and concerns, empowering employees to utilize existing tools and resources. 
  • Responsible for onboarding & off-boarding process ensuring high employee satisfaction
  • Maintains HRIS system and provide reports on HR metrics and goals.
 

 Qualifications include:
 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of HR Generalist experience including payroll and benefits administration preferably in a multi-state fast-paced startup environment.
  • Possess an extraordinary desire to contribute to the overall employee experience and excitement in resolving issues and driving process improvement
  • Knowledge of employment related and compliance legislation including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, FLSA, FEHA and EEOC.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and management
  • Demonstrate high level of professionalism & impeccable discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using G-Suite preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with PEO model
  • Experience with various payroll systems, policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration and/or PHR certification preferred
