Your day-to-day (as a Spiceworks Business Analyst, you’ll):

  • Use analytical know-how and super-human SQL skills to spot key business insights, trends and opportunities in our vast database of millions of records
  • Act as point of contact for all customer data questions and help interpret and communicate findings in a way that’s easily understood by the average, non-data guru (like directors of Fortune 500 companies)
  • Help drive new business and support existing clients through data driven decisions that are key to structuring and closing deals, and improving customer campaigns
  • Interact with internal and external clients to extract, interpret and communicate data insights
  • Draw out key business insights and provide actionable recommendations
  • Develop graphs/dashboards/metrics from raw data to help show ROI to customers
  • Put together compelling (but easily understood) presentations to help the sales team close deals
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track performance for customers

Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?

  • 3-5 years of experience using relational databases
  • Experience with Clickstream data a plus
  • SQL skills
  • Experience in Tableau wizardry (or other visualization tools like Power BI, Domo, Looker, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce
  • Out-of-this-world Excel skills – you know pivot tables and formulas like the back of your hand
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of media business and tech brands is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product, Marketing, Client Success, and/or Sales
  • Ability to communicate to non-technical stakeholders
  • Initiative and pride in your work and to challenge status quo
