Manufacturing Engineer at Starship

Starship Technologies is developing the future of delivery – self-driving robots that bring parcels, groceries and food to people around the world.
 
We have entered commercial pilots with hundreds of robots driving along sidewalks across the United States and four countries in Europe. Soon we hope there will be thousands of delivery robots around the world.    
 
Manufacturing team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will help us produce more delivery robots, while also maintaining Starship's reputation for quality craftsmanship, to an exact schedule.
 
In the role, you will be expected to know everything there is to know about manufacturing our robots. We're looking for someone who wants to work at the cutting edge of what is possible in technology, and is willing to give their all to ensure consistent, premium-quality robots roll off our production line. You've got to be hard-working and technically knowledgeable, but also capable of adding to the positive atmosphere to the team.

A successful candidate will:

      • Possess a passion for robots and innovative technologies
      • Have a comprehensive knowledge of mechanics, electronics and IT
      • Possess at least a basic knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
      • Be skilled at reading technical drawings
 

Your responsibilities will be:

    • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
    • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
    • To build delivery robots and their accessories
    • To improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency
    • To communicate with subcontractors to which various subassemblies will be outsourced, while helping them to reach the necessary quality standards in manufacturing
    • To develop various testing procedures, and tools for manufacturing, to optimise the process

It will be a bonus if you have:

    • Design and quality control experience in product manufacturing
    • Experience with CAD programs (SolidWorks etc.)
    • Hobby projects in electronics or mechanics
