The Sr. Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with the Chief Engineer and Program Management to plan and coordinate the top-level requirements for the supply base.  Ensure the requirements are flowed down to suppliers through engagement with engineering teams and review of drawings.  This position will also coordinate supplier non-conformance and track root cause and corrective actions.. This role is for a dynamic, self-starting individual with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position located at our facility in Huntington Beach, CA. with periodic travel to our Production facility in Tucson, AZ.

 A typical day might include the following:

  • Develop working relationships with the supplier network, track and monitor supplier activities to ensure quality and on-time deliveries.
  • Be an integrated team member of the Engineering team to find and source suppliers to meet the needs of the company.
  • Coordinate non-conforming hardware dispositions and manage the material review board process.
  • Manage root cause and corrective action plans for discrepant hardware
  • Review drawings and provide feedback to improve manufacturability to reduce costs and lead times
  • Conduct periodic supplier assessments and provide improvements plans
  • Demonstrated skills in manufacturing/assembly/integration/test processes
  • Periodic validation of the system to ensure the best process is defined, implement lean manufacturing techniques
  • Review drawings with the engineers, and supply chain buyers to develop robust statements of work that will provide material to meet the company objectives.
  • Conduct periodic supplier assessments and provide improvements plans
  • Identify any shortcomings or gaps related to the supply chain and integrate with Program management and scheduling.
  • Travel to suppliers will be required on a periodic basis.

 This job might be for you if you have these:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Operations or related field is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Project Engineering, or related field in the aerospace industry.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Willing to travel [approx. 30%].
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
