Overview
 
As a Product Marketing Manager for Membership and Retention, you will be a key player on the Product Marketing team, driving and executing our strategy to keep customers thrilled with their Tonal membership. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with retention and engagement marketing, listening to customers and building communication programs to help customers understand and love all the benefits of their membership.
 
You will partner closely with Product Management to understand what will keep our customers renewing their membership, month after month. You will look at customer behavior and ensure we are building a membership program that our customers will value. You will work closely with Product to develop communication plans using email, web, notifications, and social to help customers get the most out of their Tonal. You will identify features and messaging that address key pain points and minimize churn.
 
Lastly, you will work closely with Brand Marketing to help turn our best customers into loyal evangelists. As Membership PMM, you will help identify success stories and super users that we can elevate in our marketing and demonstrate the benefits of being a Tonal member. 
 
The role is based in San Francisco, California and will report to the Director of Brand and Product Marketing. 
 
What You Will Do 
 
  • Define the vision and strategy for how Tonal retains happy, loyal Tonal customers in our membership program
  • Work closely with Product to influence roadmap planning and ensure our membership offering is compelling and addresses customer needs
  • Execute evergreen and triggered campaigns to onboard and retain customers into the Tonal membership program
  • Listen and engage with our customers, surfacing relevant learnings to share out with the team
 
Who You Are
 
  • 6+ years experience in product marketing, with experience with retention/engagement/membership marketing
  • Experience marketing complex products and heavy consumer education
  • Experience working with researchers and/or consumer insights
  • A strong writer and clear communicator, who can build messaging strategies for complicated and complex products
  • Self-starter who is able to iterate quickly and work well with a team
