About the Role:
 
Imperfect is looking for an IT Helpdesk Engineer to provide proactive support for information systems, software applications, and network infrastructure. The candidate will be supporting the helpdesk to prevent and resolve end user issues across HQ, multiple fulfillment centers and delivery operations. This position will provide technical expertise to solve immediate issues as well as develop procedures to educate and enable our end users to help themselves.

Responsibilities:

    • Support multi-location computer systems, windows servers, and network infrastructure
    • Develop policies, procedures, and self-help strategies
    • Support the implementation of IT systems in new facilities including warehouses and office spaces
    • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems.
    • Partner with technology vendors and business partners to ensure hardware and software solutions are configured to best practices
    • Provide onsite and remote technical support for all warehouse technology machinery
    • Maintain knowledge in emerging technologies to be able to recommend business solutions
    • Establish and maintain documentation and knowledge sharing to enable cross-training
    • Evaluate and assist with negotiating the purchase of new hardware and related software to improve our overall cost efficiency
    • Recommend and deliver solutions which streamline processes, implement automation when possible, and improve ease of use

Skills and Qualifications:

    • 5+ years supporting a helpdesk and IT infrastructure
    • Mastery of Mac OS and Windows operating systems
    • Proficient in Windows Server 2012 / 2016 with Hyper-V
    • Experience with firewall, routing, and switching equipment
    • Experience with implementation and fine tuning of managed Wireless solutions
    • Mastery of SaaS such as G Suite, O365, Slack, Zoom, Asana
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience
    • Confidence managing external partners and vendors
    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems with technology
    • Background working in a fast-paced start-up environment

Details of the Position:

    • Full-time exempt position reporting to the Director of Information Technology
    • Position is based out of our San Francisco headquarters in the Bayview, with the opportunity to work from home regularly
    • Infrequent domestic travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

    • A mix of sedentary and standing work
    • Standing desks and/or other ergonomic accommodations are available upon request
    • Walking, climbing stairs, and standing are required occasionally

    • Ability to relocate large screens and conference room equipment
