Procurement Assistant (6-months Maternity Cover) at Spire

Spire Global are looking for a temporary Procurement Assistant to join our Glasgow team. The Procurement Assistant will work in our Glasgow office as part of the Supply Chain team connecting our business units, ensuring engineering and operations run smoothly and efficiently. 

As the procurement assistant you’ll play a key role within the Supply Chain team, responsible for all aspects of order management.

Candidates must have experience with the following:

  • Order Placement and management duties to be performed in accordance with Spire procedures and policies
  • Work with Engineering to ensure data sent for RFQ is complete & accurate
  • Submit RFQ’s to approved suppliers
  • Create Purchase Requests
  • Create Purchase Orders
  • Work with inventory control to send free issue parts to suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery commitments will be maintained and production schedules will not be impacted
  • Closeout all procurement related activities ensuring administrative systems and records are maintained
  • Undertaking any other duties and projects as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs

Experience/Knowledge

  • Around 3-years minimum administration and or procurement experience
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing process and materials is preferred but not essential
  • Exposure to of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP)
  • Key decision making and problem-solving
  • Warehousing; receiving, and shipping
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Solid communications skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate across several levels of staff and customers/vendors
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Structured approach to problem-solving
  • Experience purchasing/sourcing of raw materials, fabricated metal parts, custom assemblies, and COT's items
  • Credit Card reconciliation
