As Canva continues its exciting growth, we are on the lookout in expanding the team behind finding, attracting, and hiring the world’s best talent for Canva –– the Talent Acquisition team. Our recruitment best practices at Canva is cutting-edge, leveraging the latest recruitment technologies and platforms and promoting a very data-driven approach to optimizing the efficiency and performance of the Talent Acquisition function.

What you'll do
As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will profile, identify, attract, and assess both active and passive prospects and guide them on their journey to becoming Canvanauts. You will be passionate about delivering an awesome candidate experience and act as the primary advocate for candidates leading them through the recruiting and interviewing process, connecting them to the magic of working at Canva.
An ambassador of Canva
You will share the Canva story, vision and culture with prospective candidates and act as a brand ambassador when representing Canva and job opportunities in the external marketplaces.
Top-notch recruiting skills
Sourcing for active and passive talent in the market, with attention to product and growth roles and potentially software engineers, and converting them into successful hires. This involves filtering and high-level screening of inbound applications across the various recruitment platforms and technologies utilized by the Talent Acquisition Team.
End-to-end recruitment
You will work on the the end-to-end guidance of individuals through Canva’s standard interview process - from application qualification, phone screening, to face-to-face interviews, through to offer and close.
Work with cross-cultural teams
You also get the opportunity to work with fellow recruiters and hiring managers to understand hiring needs and execute recruitment strategies for each position. This also involves managing stakeholders across Sydney and Manila and ensuring that there is clarity on the recruitment process and progress.
Research and data
Part of your role is ensuring integrity of data and the free-flow of information by meticulous note-taking and utilization of our applicant tracking tools and platform. You will also have to promote and support the data-driven talent acquisition approach and strive for constant collaboration across both the Sydney and Manila offices.

You'll love this job if...

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced internal recruitment or agency role
  • You have previous experience recruiting engineering, product, design, finance, and accounting roles within technology companies
  • You have a good grasp of the English language. This means outstanding written and verbal English communication skills are a must as your success in this role hinges on your ability to communicate with individuals, understand underlying motivations, and influence
  • You are comfortable and confident in making cold calls over the phone to potential applicants. Have a high-track in successful candidate negotiation and ensuring consistent and great candidate experience.
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, a curious demeanor, and be self-motivated by the desire to hone your recruitment and team-building skills in a challenging, yet fun, casual environment
  • You have prior experience in  developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships across the various functions at Canva (tech, product, business, founders, etc)
  • You have a genuine desire to to work within a fast-paced, cross-cultural, technology product startup environment catering to millions of users all over the world!
