Software Engineer - Systems at Nextdoor
San Francisco, CA, US

Are you passionate about using the power of technology to build community? Do you believe residents can strengthen their neighborhoods through dialog and collaboration? Would you like to join a transformative company and play a meaningful role in crafting its future? If so, we’d love to meet you.

The Systems team at Nextdoor is responsible for seeing and building the future of our infrastructure. This team pays close attention to how we build, what we build and things that stand in the way of us properly building and scaling the Nextdoor platform. In this role you’ll be part of the team that helps Nextdoor stay ahead of the curve - you'll build tools and automation that drive the entire fabric of how we use the cloud. You will implement security standards that start at the very bottom of the stack and permeate all the way up to the Nextdoor user-facing services.

When existing tools don't apply, you'll build new and custom tools like Bender, our serverless ETL on AWS Lambda that handles tens of billions of events daily, our Postgres Logical Replication system PG-Bifrost that is the basis for large-scale analytics on our relational databases, and our deployment automation tool Kingpinthat operates dozens of code releases a day. Sound interesting?
