In two short years, we have established ourselves as a strong voice in the founder and startup community. Thought leadership and knowledge sharing is a cornerstone of our GTM strategy. As our first legal writer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to its strategic roadmap.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to harness and highlight our SMEs and their expertise by capturing and telling the stories we have internally. You will have the opportunity to take our content strategy to the next level by deepening our business expertise as well as defining our legal mindshare in the market. You will work closely with our attorneys, partners, and general counsel, among other business functions, to ensure we are portraying a stance that is thorough and legally sound for our clients and prospects.

What will you be doing?

    • Define and develop our legal voice by taking the knowledge from our attorneys to craft creative, informative, and factually correct legal marketing content (blogs, bylines, and guides, as well as a legal glossary of facts and a client knowledge base) 
    • Take the lead in developing our content strategy for our client-only knowledge base. Work with our customer experience, account management, product marketing, and legal teams to determine the needs and interests of our client base and how that balances with our demand generating content strategy
    • Develop a content engine that holds internal and external stakeholders accountable for high-quality product of content and storytelling on a timely schedule
    • Share ownership in KPIs related to website content as well as knowledge base consumption such as pipeline sourced/influenced and client retention/churn

What does success look like in this role?

    • As part of the corporate marketing team, your success will be tied to deepening our brand exposure, legal expertise, and thought leadership in the market
    • 5+ years of writing experience, 2-3 years focused on legal 
    • Track record of success at growing companies, preferably within a marketing org at a B2B company 
    • Strong and creative writing and editorial skills
    • Excellent communication skills; you are well-poised and have the ability to build interpersonal relationships and communicate with attorneys, founders and VCs
    • Desire to innovate; you like to develop and execute on content ideas that no one has tried before
    • Seeing the success of your content excites you but also drives curiosity to test the message further or in a new way
    • Performance and metrics driven; as an analytical marketer, you believe that measurement and iteration are keys to a successful marketing strategy 
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders; you know how to un-bottleneck content development processes to keep our pipeline fresh and consistent
    • Passion for writing about startups, VCs, and the legal landscape
