Product Designer at Atrium
San Francisco, CA, US
Atrium is a data-driven law firm designed to make access to corporate legal services transparent and price-predictable for everyone. We're doing this by building the first structured data platform for organizational data. We use modern techniques for extracting data that is locked away in legal documents, modeling how best to store this information, and inventing new ways for lawyers and paralegals to interact with the resulting structured data to help advise clients.
Atrium LTS ("Legal Technology Services") technology provides a better experience for legal clients than they previously thought possible, increasing communication and speed of service.
We’re seeking a product designer to join our fast-growing engineering, product, and design (EPD) team. You’ll work in an industry that has been underserved by design and technology by turning complex, manual work into elegantly-crafted solutions that are exponentially more intuitive and efficient than established processes. As an early member of Atrium’s EPD team, you’ll also have an outsized opportunity to shape Atrium’s design language and brand, help grow our product and design team, and build the future of legal services for clients and legal professionals.

What You'll Get to Do:

    • Design flows and experiences that make complex legal services simple and delightful
    • Contribute to establishing a design language at Atrium
    • Dig into established processes by empathizing with end users (attorneys and clients) through user research, then find ways to make them better
    • Partner with product managers, engineers, and lawyers to help develop innovative tools to deliver legal services more efficiently
    • Lead with insights by translating quantitative and qualitative input so that our teams can build the right solutions, ensuring product market fit
    • Establish adoption, engagement, and efficiency metrics for products and find ways to improve them

What You Need to be Successful:

    • 2+ years of UX and product design experience spent working on complex, web-based products. Bonus points if you have experience building designs in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of UX, primarily focused on product design, user research, and wireframing. Bonus points if you have visual design chops as well
    • Experience working with design processes that align with product development processes, taking projects from ideas, to research, to design, to development and release
    • Understanding of complex workflows designed to scale from novice to advance users of legal services
    • Have contributed to component-based design systems
    • Experience working in fast paced and execution-focused continuous delivery environments
    • A track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, and integrity to reach aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and ownership

What You'll Get From Atrium:

    • The unique opportunity to join one of the hottest SF startups to watch in 2018. We're not just another legal tech company disrupting a traditional industry, we're transforming how legal services are provided!
    • Top-tier mentorship from experienced founders, including Justin Kan
    • Competitive compensation and sweet perks like catered lunch daily, Bevi machine, endless coffee, and snacks
    • San Francisco office across from 4th & King CalTrain with large private patio and views of downtown
