Mechanical Design Engineer at Starship
Tallinn, EE
Starship Technologies is making the world better, one delivery at a time, and we want you to be part of the change. We're building a fleet of robots designed to deliver goods to customers locally in 15-45 minutes. We're proud of our robots, but each robot is only as great as the humans responsible for it. This is where you come in.
Our robots are on course to be seen on sidewalks all over the United States, having already shown their impressive capabilities extensively in Europe. We are a global technology start-up with operations and engineering in Europe and the United States, launched by co-founders of Skype in 2014.
However, to be the future of delivery on a global basis, we need to keep strengthening our team, because in a fast-moving world, if you're not moving forwards, you're moving backwards.
We need the top mechanical engineering talent, in order to keep improving every aspect of our robots. If you're excited by the possibilities, we want you to join our spirited and motivated team of experienced mechanical and mechatronics engineers. Starship is a tech-industry trailblazer, and so you'll join a fast-moving, adaptable group of people. We value critical thinkers who are great at problem-solving, and can operate independently while also bringing something extra to our dynamic team.

You might just be who we're looking for, if you:

    • Have at least three years' experience in mechanical engineering
    • Can identify and solve problems using keen analytical skills and clear thinking
    • Possess existing experience in computer-aided design systems, preferably SolidWorks
    • Have at least a basic understanding of mechatronics systems – mechanics, but also electronics and software
    • Have excellent communications skills

Ideally, you will also:

    • Have a deep understanding of mid-high volume manufacturing principles and methods
    • Have a proven track record in designing consumer products
    • Have a background in structural FEM simulation
    • Have prior work experience with a tech startup, with a focus on solving problems in stages

Job specifics:

    • The job is based in Tallinn, Estonia, but you can expect to join an international, multicultural team, and we offer extensive relocation support.
