Senior Software Engineer at Lets Do This
London, GB
Let's Do This is the online marketplace for endurance sports. Whether you're looking for your first 5k fun-run or your 10th Ironman triathlon, we're the best place to go to find your next challenge. Behind the scenes, we're an ambitious team that are passionate about inspiring others to take on life-changing challenges, and are looking for others who share this passion to join the team as we shake up the health and fitness industry.
This position is a rare chance to shape the culture and strategy of a firm that is revolutionising the sports and leisure industry, including an Olympic gold medallist and an unashamedly elite engineering team.
You'll be working across the whole stack - from automating infrastructure to UI-driven features. Some of our upcoming challenges include:
Front-end: an SEO-optimized, eye-wateringly performant web client
Search: a lightening fast search service across hundreds of thousands of race tickets, leveraging Elasticsearch
Data-ingestion: a data-ingestion pipeline to keep our huge database of races updated in real-time
Mobile: a mobile app that will connect hundreds of thousands of users with the best races in the world
Our stack is React, Typescript, Node, GraphQL, Redis, MongoDB and Docker - all backed by AWS (inc. Lambda).
A highly skilled and highly driven team with a shared passion and vision to revolutionise the sports industry.
Extremely competitive salary and stock options: we're looking for the best of the best.
Launched in December 2016 and now with offices in San Francisco, London, and Sydney. We're a young and ambitious team motivated by a shared passion for helping people discover and take part in life-changing challenges. We participated in Y Combinator in winter 2018, and since then have raised $3m in funding from a leading Silicon Valley VC fund and angels and are entering our next phase of growth.
Running, triathlon, cycling, obstacle racing and many other endurance sports are booming, but it's really difficult to find great events. With the largest database of events in the world, and an engaged community of endurance sports enthusiasts, we're making it easy to find great races, whilst helping race organisers to reach new participants.
See how we became the most talked-about company on our Y-Combinator batch (March 2018, Mountain View CA, USA).
