Kapwing is an online image and video platform that helps creators make and share modern media from the browser. Kapwing enables individual storytellers and entertainers and empowers teams to produce higher-quality visual content faster with collaborative media tools.


We’re a seed-stage startup backed by Kleiner Perkins. We raised $1.7m in July 2018 and have tripled in size (usage, MRR) since then. We’re growing our team (right now, 6 FTE) and looking for people excited about our mission and early stage. Read more about Kapwing in TechCrunch.


Role: Responsibilities

We want to pay you to create cool stuff! We’re looking for prolific content creators to produce more awesome resources for digital media makers.


  • Write articles daily that help social media creators, artists, digital marketers, students, meme makers, journalists, and other modern image/video creators

  • Edit and solicit guest contributions for the Kapwing Resources library

  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop strategic content series

  • Interview customers and highlight different use cases of Kapwing

  • Publish shareable content relevant for SMBs and startups

  • Capitalize on popular trends and brainstorm wacky ideas to attract PR and attention from creators

  • Establish best practices and process for a growing content team


This position is a full-time role reporting to the CEO at the Kapwing HQ in San Francisco.

Role: Requirements


  • Passion for creating content

    • Runs a successful blog, podcast, YouTube channel, or newsletter on a topic you care about

    • Experience with growing an audience

  • Experienced writer

    • Published work in several different digital and/or print publications

    • (Preferred) Background in journalism or humanities

  • Highly independent and prolific: Can brainstorm and execute on content ideas without oversight or management. Has a lot of creative vision and scrappy execution skills.

  • Interest in technology, social media, and creative professionals

    • Plugged in to pop culture, entertainment, and social media trends

    • Runs successful personal social media channels

    • Experience with SEO and/or bottoms-up SaaS startups is a plus

  • Community Builder: Skilled networker who builds personal relationships with partners, customers, and advocates

    • Comfortable with advocating for/evangelizing Kapwing

  • Results-oriented: Strategic, focused on outcomes. Experimental.

  • No ego: There’s a lot we wish we could do but don’t have time for. Must have the ability to put the product’s needs first, invite criticism, and embrace failure

  • (Optional) Has managed and grown a content/editorial team


Our Culture

We’re an engineering-heavy team, all interested in learning the latest web technologies and applying them to video, photography, and social media content. Founded by two product managers, Kapwing has a strong design and UX orientation when building new products. We’ve grown Kapwing entirely through organic content marketing, storytelling, and creativity, so we want a content team that is equally as prolific, fun, and creative.


Team Kapwing is scrappy and creative, and we love launching random things for fun (check out Cartoonify!). Everyone does a bit of everything, from operations to supporting our customers. We love the creators who use our product and embrace pop culture, design, music, and media trends.
