Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Fetch Robotics

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing manufacturing instructions, establishing quality metrics/ quality management systems, measuring process fall-out, driving adherence to engineering change management, and measuring manufacturing throughput and execution with regard to the production of Fetch Robotics Products and Accessories. The ME's imperative is to manufacture Products and Accessories in the most efficient, cost effective, quality driven and socially responsible way possible. 

The Sr. ME will be expected to act as the primary technical interface to our outsourced manufacturing partners and accountable for monitoring and measuring site technical capabilities and performance against agreed upon service levels.

In this role the Sr. ME will interface with cross functional teams and work closely with manufacturing operations, test engineering, quality department leads/technicians in order to create best in class processes/solutions for quality control, process efficiency, manufacturing documentation, and effective utilization of resources in the end to end manufacturing operations of Products and Accessories.

The Sr. ME will support the below responsibilities for both internal and external manufacturing operations. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Assist Sr. management in the development & formulation of objectives that meet organizational strategic imperatives. Goal setting and measurement for production fall-out, debug/diagnostics, first pass yield, out of box audits, return material process, site level 5s, scrap, and production throughput. Metrics driven mindset managing suppliers adherence and performance against established service levels via supplier business reviews. Implement, measure, and monitor impact to manufacturing operations as a result of change derived from lean/kaizen events, engineering change notifications, or DFx findings; design for engineering, manufacturing, or test. Equipment maintenance/calibration, preventive/corrective maintenance schedules.Create and perform SOP's/SOE's and checklists for Products and Accessories.Re-engineer processes to optimize product flow, identify and eliminate bottlenecks, reduce variation, drive quality standards, streamline operations and support cost cutting initiatives.Ensure processes conforms to Six-Sigma lean manufacturing practices by evaluating new and existing process and implementing solutions to improve productivity and quality output.Coordinate with with HW/SW engineering and quality teams to meet test yield goals. Work closely with external production partners and internal production team to ensure proper documentation exists and quality standards are met.Champion for RCCA (root-cause corrective action) and diagnostic (debug) metrics driven reviews for products, accessories, components, failure pareto, corrective action.Manage changes as a result of engineering changes, including but not limited to, stop ship, product/accessory/component purges, special process instruction/re-work, phase-in, or cut-in.Champion for all SCAR (supplier corrective action) and CAR (corrective action) and resulting containment, root-cause, and corrective action. 


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 6-8 years of experience in contract manufacturing & original design manufacturer environments; managing teams of various sizes/experience.
  • LEAN six-sigma manufacturing knowledge and experience.
  • Able to accomplish root cause analysis and resolve problems on a conceptual and advanced troubleshooting level.
  • Strong knowledge of the following processes: Mechanical Design and Mechanical Assembly; Industrial Engineering/ Product life-cycle (NPI, sustaining, end of life)
  • Electro-Mechanical assembly, sensors, FVT/system level test experience.
  • Familiarity with design of cable assemblies, sheet metal, machined parts.
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional environment.
  • Change management approvals & implementation (ECO, Deviations, SPI, & DRN)
  • General networking and computer hardware knowledge preferred.
  • General Linux /Python knowledge preferred.
