Vice President of Marketing at SendBird

SendBird is looking for a passionate global marketing leader with a proven track record of designing and running transformational marketing campaigns in a B2B setting. The ideal candidate must be able to generate customer insights that inform SendBird’s product strategy, lead go-to-market for our suite of products and create and execute campaigns that drive product growth across the globe. You will lead every function of our global marketing team, identify the top priority items and get in the trenches with a globally distributed team across product marketing, demand generation, corporate marketing, and marketing operations. 


Mission: Build a strategic marketing operation that scales to the global market in a capital-efficient way, targeting VP of Product, VP of Engineering, and CxOs. Position SendBird as the industry’s gold standard technical solution and the category leader in a massive market.


  • Become an internal expert on current and next-generation SendBird product and how we position them externally to the market and internally to our sales teams.
  • Strong background in product marketing to a technical (engineering/product) audience, with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: go-to-market strategy, messaging, value prop definition, content creation (collateral, sales tools, sales training, etc.), product education (internal/external), thought leadership development and end-to-end product marketing management.
  • Has been the leader in a marketing organization that has contributed to the hyper-growth/scaling of business from $10M to $50M+ or a leader owning a domain in marketing organization in a business that has grown from a minimum of $20M to $75M+.
  • Leader/team-builder. Demonstrated success as a strategic business leader and executive. Strong communication, listening, interpersonal skills and motivator of people. Able to create a team that is better than the sum of its parts. Track record of attracting, recruiting, retaining, and mentoring a team as it grows to 10+ people.
  • Highly analytical with strong people and management skills. Heavy emphasis on collaboration, egalitarianism, transparency.
  • Hire and develop a world-class B2B marketing organization.
  • Collaborate extensively with the product team and the sales team to build a seamless workflow to convert products into demand/thought leadership and convert marketing leads into deals and customers with zero silos throughout the collaborative process and culture.
  • Build a strategic marketing operation (marketing mix of top-down and bottom-up) to scale demand in a cost-efficient way that becomes sets the new bar for how B2B marketing can be done. 
  • Position the company in the market as a great place to work and learn, grow fast, with a strong intensity, but a positive and embracing culture with high standards.
  • Build a marketing framework for the brand to extend beyond chat API & messaging SDK, towards fulfilling the mission of digitizing human interactions for businesses.
  • Ideally has experience around technologies within the API ecosystem. Must have experience with cloud and/or technical solutions.
  • This person must be located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area. Furthermore, they must have an appreciation for a globally distributed business and flexible for regular (quarterly/biannual) travel to our Korea & EMEA. 





  • Overall 10+ years of experience in marketing (and adjacent fields).
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • 4+ years of expertise in product marketing for technical products.
  • 4+ years of demand gen selling too technical and product buyers.
  • Experience in a company, ending as a senior managerial role (director, head of, VP, and above)  that grew from early/growth stage to an IPO or a big M&A exit.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of technical products.
  • Built and ran a marketing team from the ground up, working with both experienced and new.
