Overview

You will support Tonal’s Hardware Quality team, including Field Failure Analysis, Safety, Reliability and Regulatory Compliance. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and execute reliability tests for NPI and sustaining.  You will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Customer Success and Field Operations to analyze product performance, help reduce field and install failures and drive engineering actions to contain, analyze and correct the root cause of design and manufacturing issues. This role reports to our Head of Product Quality.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure product quality and reliability for New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining products
  • Prepare concise and detailed reliability test protocols and reports
  • Partnering with the development teams and Operations to drive root cause from field failures
  • Analyze design of experiment (DOE) data to provide in-depth understanding of design features
  • Research technology to understand root causes of test failures
  • Manage failure analysis activities
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Operations teams to improve product reliability
  • Maintain key relationships with manufacturing partners test labs while developing in-house capabilities
  • Develop internal test requirements
  • Create and execute reliability test plans and infrastructure, both in house and with JDM or external partners
  • Use data and statistical methods to determine product readiness for milestone reviews
  • This position will require international travel

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science
  • Experience in high volume consumer product development and manufacturing
  • 5+ years in a Reliability Engineering role  
  • Data driven, ability to deep dive into data, establish trends, condense or visualize data
  • Familiar with Agile  and Waterfall methodologies
  • Understanding of reliability test methods
  • Experience working with CM or JDM partners in Asia
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with high integrity
  • Open to feedback with an ongoing desire to improve
  • High degree of self awareness
