Director, IT & Security at TigerConnect

TigerConnect is looking for a Director, IT & Security who will be responsible for comprehensive direction and support of all technologies utilized in the company, including desk-side user support, enterprise application support, enterprise data management, and all audio-visual technology. In addition, this role will be the voice of information security concerns and best practices.  The Director, IT & Security will play a critical role in shaping how we raise the bar on information security and ensure company wide compliance with HIPAA and other important health care regulations while we scale the business and technology platform.

Candidates should have a security-first approach and be prepared to contribute and justify recommendations in a dynamic and challenging environment. Candidates must also be able to go beyond providing advice on security considerations - we are looking for a candidate that has demonstrated the ability to partner cross-functionally to help define and drive solutions that meet security requirements as well as other business needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the IT Operations team in Santa Monica and Palo Alto as well as remote contractors, while building a team that is exceptionally customer service oriented and delivers business value
  • Develop IT Strategy in support of the company’s mission and core objectives
  • Oversee all facets of the company’s current systems including, Wi-Fi Network, Help Desk, Phone systems, disaster recovery and all other support necessary to ensure systems are up and running, and meeting employees’ expectations
  • Responsible for researching and evaluating new technologies that will improve service and/ or reduce costs to the company
  • Serve as the HIPAA compliance officer in charge of company security audits and ensure company is compliant of all requirements to maintain HITRUST Certification
  • Maintain security (network and premises) of TigerConnect’s network, if needed implement solutions that adheres to industry best practices
  • Responsible for procurement and asset management
  • Partner with product and technology teams to ensure product requirements and technical designs will lead to secure implementations
  • Work with technology leadership to define the security roadmap
  • Implement security projects, including evaluating and selecting vendors or open source solutions as appropriate
  • Act as the product owner for security concerns across the technology teams by working to prioritize security-related work on development teams
  • Raise awareness and adherence to secure development practices on development teams
  • Raise awareness of security across the organization

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with information security theory and implementation in some of the following areas:
    • Data protection
    • HIPAA compliance and certification
    • Confidentiality, integrity, availability, non-repudiation
    • Application, network, database, and hardware security
    • Encryption algorithms and cryptographic hashing
    • Public Key Infrastructure
    • Code to simulate crypto architecture for validation
    • Code security review
    • Logging and compliance
    • Threat analysis and risk mitigation
    • Policy generation and enforcement
    • Vulnerability detection
    • System auditing
    • WiFi network and maintenance
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to approach problems with attacker mentality and mitigate unique and ever-changing risks
  • Mac and Windows expertise in networking setup and provisioning
  • Proven track record of building relationships and rapport amongst all levels within the organization
  • Strong Knowledge of Security Frameworks (ISO 27002, NIST 800-53, COBIT, HITRUST)
  • Required Advanced Other Knowledge of security regulations and standards (HIPAA, HITECH, SOX, PCI etc.)
  • Hands on experience with Firewalls, DLP, Vulnerability Assessment tools (infrastructure and application) IDS/IPS, SIEM, 2 factor authentication, static and dynamic code analysis tools etc.
  • Strong knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, UNIX) and authentication (Active Directory)
