Production Test Technician (PTT) at Fetch Robotics

The PTT will be responsible for complete end to end Robot and Accessory testing from bring-up through final test. The end to end test process will include system level and component level testing. The PTE will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Management to ensure Robot/Accessory throughput meets demand plan requirements.

The PTT will engage with Robotics Engineering teams (quality assurance, robotics, HW/SW engineering) to enhance, or improve automation, as well as drive other continuous improvement activities aimed at developing the required test rigor and robust component calibration steps to ensure quality Robots/Accessories are delivered to our end customers.



  • Perform end to end testing on production level and new product introduction Robots/Accessories.
  • Manage root-cause/diagnostics and recovery of Robot/Accessory fall-out (WIP).
  • Drive corrective action whether process, material, workmanship, or design with cross-functional teams.
  • Document detailed de-bug reports / cookbooks for training / diagnostics guide.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities using lean manufacturing concepts (value stream map/ efficiency metrics).
  • Additionally, the candidate will work to refine the hardware testing process to better meet the needs of the hardware engineering phases (EVT/DVT/PVT) of projects and contribute to the NPI pipeline by improving quality metrics.
  • Assist manufacturing and engineering by conducting root cause / corrective action analysis as required and driving corrective action.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Control with the collection, preparation, analysis & go forward strategy based on test parameters, test fall-out, or overall enhancements/improvements to the current test process or architecture.
  • Assist and lead in Lean continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing area is kept tidy (5S).
  • Other duties as prescribed by the manager.


  • Bachelor's degree required OR equivalent combination of certification and 3-5 years experience.
  • Experience using Linux on a daily basis to triage HW and SW issues.
  • Experience testing connected devices…ie robots, IoT HW, & cloud-hosted services.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Fluency in tools such as; Google Mail & Google Docs & Google Sheets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hardware and software engineers, find product defects, solve complex problems, and perform detailed testing of complex products.
  • Proven experience triaging complex problems and producing accurate detailed bug reports.
