Our Communications Team’s mission is to make Canva a household name across the globe. The team work collaboratively to create and implement integrated communications strategies generating buzz and awareness of Canva.
We’re looking for an amazing graphic designer to help out on Canva’s Brand & Marketing team.
Starting in October for 3 weeks, with a high possibility of an extended period on other projects.
The initial project you’ll be working on is a Duolingo style course for design. We’ll be creating simple design activities that teach non-designers that basics of using Canva and gamify the learning process. You’ll be designing within the Canva platform (we can get you up to speed on the product quickly) and collaborating with a team including a creative director, copy writer and user journey specialist to bring this project to life.


  • Create inspiring and impactful visual content with the Brand and Marketing team. This will include communications for product launches, advertising campaigns, landing pages, case studies, internal culture initiatives and events
  • Create content that sparks Canva’s vibrant internal culture: training and development, health and wellness initiatives, Hackathons, Season Openers, and swag kits.
  • Collaborate with the other product teams across Canva to create product launch campaigns that are aligned across all touchpoints and on-brand.
  • Work with our Head of PR and Internal Videographer to develop a content calendar to ensure a constant supply of appealing visual content that help build brand affinity and recognition, as well as a sense of community.
  • Take the lead on design projects and act as a mentor for other designers in the team.
  • Facilitate idea-generating sessions and creative workshops.
  • Manage multiple projects and liase with production suppliers
  • Help us make Canva the most loved brand in the world!


  • 5+ years of experience as a Brand/Visual Designer creating a diverse range of marketing materials.
  • Experience working with brand strategy and applying brand systems across multiple touchpoints.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your passion for conceptual thinking, brand systems, art direction and beautiful designs.
  • Advanced design skills and mastery of typography, color, and layouts.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of various design mediums, and how best to leverage them. (Canva will become an integral part of your design toolkit!)
  • The confidence to try new things, and a passion for big ideas and storytelling.
  • While we won’t be taking any blood samples, we’d love to see some Startup DNA – you will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and take ownership of deliverables and outcomes – ya gotta have hustle!
