About Spire

In the time it takes you to read this job description our low earth orbit nanosatellites would have passed overhead at least three times traveling at around 8km a second. Onboard, the satellites are collecting and downloading radio signals (data) that help drive value across the Maritime, Weather and Aviation industries.

Since Spire’s first launch in 2013, we’ve put up more than 100 satellites, each batch better than the previous one (at the time of this writing, we are on our 18th iteration). Our satellites have three payloads: Our AIS data receiver, our GNSS/GPS radio occultation receiver, and our ADS-B aircraft signal receiver. Description

We are seeking a senior content marketing writer to create compelling content that drives traffic, and engagement across all of our business units. You will need to distill the excitement of rocket launches, low earth orbit satellites, and the massive data sets we create every day into fresh and creative content spanning websites, social posts, webinars, events, e-book, white papers, and blogs.

You will collaborate across business units to ensure all written content is impactful, relevant and educational in a way that engages our target audience and becomes a component of our conversation with customers. Working through key insights from customers, industry news, and market research, you will ensure that our content is relevant and thought-provoking.  And given that content is critical to maximizing leads, you will write copy across all stages of the digital marketing funnel (i.e. web copy, blogs, articles, white papers, email campaigns and more).  

Responsibilities

  • Working closely and collaborating with the Content Marketing Manager on all content programs and initiatives
  • Writing copy for all digital assets (pillar pieces, web copy, ebooks, blogs, etc.) across Spire’s data product solutions
  • Ensuring copy is aligned with a content strategy (e.g., evergreen, gated pieces, etc.) and providing insights on where our strategy needs modification and improvement
  • Crafting AB-tested CTAs and working with our web designer/developer to execute against A/B tests
  • Conducting preliminary keyword research for topics, ensuring that content that we’re writing for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has the best chance of ranking and driving traffic
  • Understanding the buyer journey and creating content that will move buyers through the marketing funnel
  • Researching, and editing all topics to match the brand voice
  • Review and proofread written work from outsourced contractors

What skills should you bring?

  • At least 3+ years of experience in marketing content at a B2B SaaS company
  • At least 3+ years in a growth marketing environment
  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what our customers will consume and how to create it
  • A creative, and analytical, storyteller who can identify the pain points of our customers and guide them along the sales funnel 
  • Experience improving your work based on KPIs and other measurable data
  • Experience working with global teams, including quick adaptation and iteration
  • Demonstrable self-management is required
  • Bachelor's degree (Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising or a related field), or related certifications
