Fit-Tech will consist of high calibre, experienced individuals rolling up to the CEO through the Director for Engineering and the VP Fitness Technologies. The division will form a new P&L within the business and will focus on topics of high strategic importance to Zwift and Zwift eSports, in particular developing new products that improve or enhance the overall Zwift offering. Fit Tech consists of 3 main divisions, of which Engineering is the largest, the others being Programme Management and Product Management.

The Production Manager role is a newly created position within the Fitness Technologies (Fit Tech), Engineering Division, reporting to Director. The Production Manager is responsible for:

  1. Managing production and manufacture of all Fit Tech products.
    1. Setting up and maintaining a world class ERP/MRP system.
    2. Maintaining production BOMs.
    3. Managing the transition of products from Engineering into manufacture.
    4. In liaison with the chosen manufacturing partner
      1. Setting up manufacturing processes and controls.
      2. Assuring Quality in manufacture and the supply chain.
    5. Carrying out production planning.
    6. Managing suppliers.
  2. Ensuring all products are designed according to good DFM practices.
    1. Carrying out appropriate FMEAs.
    2. Advising designers regarding product lifetime and reliability.
  3. Managing continuous improvement processes within partners and suppliers.
  4. Sustaining products in production, investigating and correcting quality issues.
  5. Carrying out cost reduction programmes within the business and partners.

The role does not initially have any reports, but as the business grows there will be a need to hire subordinate staff - a production planner, QA Engineer and Procurement/Supply Chain manager are currently envisaged.

As Production Manager you will interact within the business as follows::

  • To the Director and VP within Fit Tech.
  • To Product and Programme Management in Fit Tech
  • To Support, Marketing and E-Commerce within Zwift.
  • To the Systems Engineer and CAD Manager.
  • To External consultants including Industrial Design
  • To Manufacturing partner(s) and suppliers.

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Masters degree in manufacturing or production engineering.
  • At least 7 years general engineering and manufacturing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern manufacturing and prototyping techniques methods and processes, such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S.
  • CAD and/or product design experience a bonus.
  • Member of an institute such as IET, on track to Chartered status (may already be Incorporated).

Location & Travel:

  • London, UK, primary place of work.
  • Regular visits to to Taiwan Contract Manufacturers may be required.
  • Ability to travel to anywhere in the world on a monthly basis to perform the roles and duties
